It's here if you want it...

That 8800mAh battery extends quite a bit, but 8 to 10 hours on such a small package is not bad..

Thanks Christoph for the pictures.

Should be compatible to 1000 series too, yes.

P.S. JKK: The link shows to the 6600mAh one, not the 8800mAh one - be patient: Both look the same.

Errr, the link is to a 5500 battery...
May be they "fixed" a mistake?

Ahh I want, I want!

Looking at the "netbook" in the pic, my smile is somewhat faded.
I take it I'm stuck with my 7800mAh huh?

Excelent solution. 901 is proving to be a top all-rounder.

Wow 11200mAh!? Insane...
If you or someone else reviews that & it "locks" better than the 7800mAh mugen, I'm sold. I can't imagine the weight though, my current mugen adds a good heft to the 900.

i got 10hr on the regular battery

Has anyone ripped these batteries apart to see exactly how that they are constructed? Are they just regular batteries in series inside a fancy form fitting battery case?

If so, then can we get a case, and add our own cheaper batteries?

May anyone could try the different 901 modes?
Really curious about the low power consumption mode. 10h reached even more?
Thanks.

if the 6600 battery only got 5-6 hours standard usage.. wouldnt the 8800mah battery only get 7-8 hours on the same type of usage?

6600 milli amps/hour Divided by 6 hour (lower battery usage) = 1100milli amps (standard drain on low usage)

There fore, if u have an 8800mah battery, divide that by low usage, u get hours. 8800mah/1100ma =8 hours. That is the standard low usage battery life. I dont see how u could get 10 hours battery life.. unless ur doing the same testing the guys over at asus do.

This doesnt seem worth it for added weight.. the seller told me this new battery weighed 100 grams more.

Correct me if i am wrong of course. I guess if u are gonna get 2 batteries for the battery life of both of them combined.. u may aswell get this one rather than the stock 6600.

The battery code is AL24-1000. it is compatible with Eeepc 1000 1000H and 901 laptop : )

this battery is 8cell one. and the 6600mah is 6cell. if the battery with 6600mAh can last 5-6 hours. i think the standby time of the 8800mAhy can last 7-8 hours.

Maybe I am just a heavy user.

The 6600mAh last around 4.5 hours and the 8800mAh around 6.5 hours. I really wonder if how you guys tested it.

JKK I am using Netbook Battery Info on a 1000H such as yourself on the 901. I have a 6600MAH 6 cell battery (as specified on the label)

Do you get this in your battery info display on that program too?

I notice the price has gone up by $20 since the last time it was posted. Let's hope it doesn't stay that way!

If only I could get an internal 3G and GPS on a production 901 or 1000 series I'd be buying one and getting this battery...

It's perfect for travelling with...

Maybe the DELL E Series will push the envelope a little more by the beginning of next year!

Thanks Christoph!

"Hello,

some hours later with some testing, i think the following numbers should be true (testing an up to 10h lasting battery in one or two days is not easy):
~6h heavy usage (CPU >90% average) and WiFi on
~8h normal usage (CPU < 40% average) and WiFi on
up to 10h normal usage (CPU < 40% average) and WiFi off
~3h charging time (9% to 98%)

After fully charging to 100% with Bluetooth and WiFi off on an idle desktop, Windows shows 13:44 :) :)

Cheers,
chs"

I get well under 2 hours on my 900 with stock battery, thinking of upgrading to a 901 or a wind. Had a look at the aspire one but I refuse to have a netbook with someone sticking out of it's arse.

I am planning to get one soon. I think Asus would be perfect for me since I travel extensively. 8-10 hours.... good one!!
