I did try putting the Sierra module (MC5725, taken from an AC595U) in there, and it did seem to power up but I couldn't get a connection going so I thought it was due to the lack of USB connections to that slot. Is it not that the Sierra module is USB-only, but the original wifi is PCIe bus connection instead?

What is the pinout for MC5725? I have searched for a long time on the internet and have even called Sierra directly, but still I cannot find such. Do you know of any place to find the real technical datasheet for it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-81283054538072506282009-05-22T17:13:04.591-07:002009-05-22T17:13:04.591-07:00wifi slot has usb too.. but if you pu anything els...wifi slot has usb too.. but if you pu anything else than the original wifi there it wount power up.. it is bios locked.JKKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16337714049302892641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-9111305713251269312009-05-22T16:52:40.852-07:002009-05-22T16:52:40.852-07:00In the photos, I see you have the same 'early' ver...In the photos, I see you have the same 'early' version of Asus EeePC 701 model that I have, and I see you have removed the wifi module from its mini-PCIe slot as well. My question is why did you not make use of that slot, rather than using the SSD expansion slot instead? I don't understand this, as the wifi slot doesn't interfere with the boot and already has the correct power available - with BIOS control, even! The only thing that slot is lacking are the 4 USB connections to interface to the Sierra module. So, wouldn't it be better to mount the Sierra module in the wifi slot and run only the USB port wiring to it instead?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-45891733844071071412009-01-04T00:26:00.000-08:002009-01-04T00:26:00.000-08:00does the 3g usb device utilize the wireless antenn...does the 3g usb device utilize the wireless antennea the same way as it would soldered inside? does the connectivity make a difference being in the usb or inside the pc?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-18582323989452132352008-12-25T19:27:00.000-08:002008-12-25T19:27:00.000-08:00hey, I was wondering if you have the driver for th...hey, I was wondering if you have the driver for the card, I been trying to find it but so far everything I have installed on my dell m65 does not work

ThanksAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-85295151469510315992008-12-11T04:21:00.000-08:002008-12-11T04:21:00.000-08:00nice mod..have to try it.. :)standard virus remova...nice mod..have to try it.. :)

standard virus removal procedure for Eee pc
http://haktech.blogspot.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-88135205838164887542008-10-12T14:45:00.000-07:002008-10-12T14:45:00.000-07:00great guide!thank yougreat guide!
thank youAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-20506231493991250112008-08-28T12:28:00.000-07:002008-08-28T12:28:00.000-07:00so is there a way i can make my eeepc function as ...so is there a way i can make my eeepc function as a phone?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-23455895620789101972008-07-28T04:48:00.000-07:002008-07-28T04:48:00.000-07:00JKK, have you tried to put the modem board directl...JKK, have you tried to put the modem board directly into the mini pcie slot?
