Little or no difference in output speed even though the processors are 900hz vs. 1.6Mhz. I appears that output speed is sacrificed in the Atom due to cache and other factors.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-57949744857929351032009-05-09T08:39:00.000-07:002009-05-09T08:39:00.000-07:00I bought the Eee 900HD/XP a couple of weeks ago to...I bought the Eee 900HD/XP a couple of weeks ago to suppliment my Lenovo full sized. Been a real nice, small pc to carry through the airports and access e-mail and various programs. Other than a very small non-annoying difference in speed, this little jewel does everything the Lenovo does and actually some things faster due to the low overhead. Just saw the Acer equivalent on sale at CompUSA only with the 1.6Mhz Atom processor for about $249. Wish I had waited.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-33028717815434377182009-03-22T14:14:00.000-07:002009-03-22T14:14:00.000-07:00I apologize for not being technically advanced. But I thought someone here would know if I made the right choice.
I just purchased the Asus Eee PC 900HD, Pink, with Celeron 353 processor from Best Buy for $249. I just need to have good wireless internet connection for email and browsing my Real Estate websites. It has a 4-cell Lithium battery, how long should that last with this usage?
Thank you for any information you would be willing to take the time to share,Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-58620111804471861482008-12-15T05:27:00.000-08:002008-12-15T05:27:00.000-08:00i just bought the 900 with the 30gb hdd a few mont...i just bought the 900 with the 30gb hdd a few months ago
and now this came up.
worst still, this is the same price as my eee pc.

im in malaysia btw. they scrapped the 30gb version and replaced it with this.

it looks like a sata connector...
omgosh, i want sata!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-67798628487643992992008-11-16T09:38:00.000-08:002008-11-16T09:38:00.000-08:00Yes, it does.Yes, it does.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-39548246671324432982008-10-11T16:18:00.000-07:002008-10-11T16:18:00.000-07:00Does the Asus PC Eee 900HA use an Atheros-Chipset ...Does the Asus PC Eee 900HA use an Atheros-Chipset based wifi card? Also - NEED Touch Screen (as can then eliminate touch pad, use only a mouse like with Everun Note, and as a result might be able to reduce size of the unit maybe to be smaller with a good keyboard like you want)?

For portable unit (then look to Everun Note as maybe the best small light weight and pocketable in baggy pants or summer shorts with big pockets). Problem there is battery life that might be solved by Q1 or Q2 of 2009 when many manufactures might be using a different screen, using a new tech with touch screen and sunlight readable as well due out in Q1, that only uses about 2-3 watts meaning longer portable battery life. We also might see these screens on cell phones, etc?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-53504065567277338052008-10-07T13:09:00.000-07:002008-10-07T13:09:00.000-07:00The significance of 3 inches, 3 lb, and $600 diffe...The significance of 3 inches, 3 lb, and $600 difference, between 90x series and a 13", depends on your needs.

For me, 3 lb and $600 is significant savings. Sure, the 901 isn't really up to the demands of A/V processing etc. - but I don't want to use ANY notebook for such anyway, and the 901 serves its intended purpose just fine. (The smaller size is another bonus imo.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33183441.post-26157619537228542042008-10-07T10:23:00.000-07:002008-10-07T10:23:00.000-07:00I think they did a step backwards with the larger ...I think they did a step backwards with the larger screen hinge.
