While Sony just launched their Tablet S at IFA, many of my colleagues have been busy testing it.

LAPTOP Magazine has their review up.

Engadget didn't get the full review done but here is their preview.

"Thisismynext.com soon to be The Verge" liked the hardware like others but were underwhelmed by the software.

You can see rest of Matt's review at ZDNet, but it wont chance anything.. no one likes it.

Joanna got only 3 hours 26 minutes from it on the video rundown test while Galaxy Tab got 6... not good. For me the greatest thing on these tablets is battery life, I can use Tab all day without worry.

Avram got 4 hours from it on surfing with wifi while on the same test he got over 9 hours with Galaxy Tab..

Kevin notices same thing as I: "It’s really meant to be a landscape device, which I find a challenge because I use my tablet in portrait mode more often than not."

.. so it seems Tegra 2 power cant help a bit when the basics are wrong. Next please..

Enspert E201U 7 inch Android tablet at Dynamism for $349

I got to test it at CES and it was good quality (2nd tablet on the video)

Enspert is the first to sell Google certified tablet without 3G, which means it has full Android Market and all Google Apps. E201 has wifi, bluetooth and GPS with full SD card slot, so specs wise not bad at all.

800 x 480 screen lacks a bit but Cortex-A8 1GHz Hummingbird and the good pricing might balance it nicely.

While it was great to handle, I'm still not liking their custom UI nor the 800 x 480 resolution... small battery also makes me want more ( 2780 mAh compared to 4400 on Galaxy Tab or 5600 on Viliv x70 )

Also the rumor stating that Honeycomb will need 1024 x 600 and up isn't looking good for this tablet.

Viliv is about to show some goodies at CES:

Viliv X7 Android Tablet with "The leadership in Anywhere Connectivity", which indicates to 3G.. or even wimax? Anyways, 3G on Android tablet typically indicates to Android Market on board so I hope that's the case here too.

Viliv X10 Android Tablet with "Longest battery life powered 10.2 inch Android" Again good news, battery life is always welcome and if the specs are same as on the prototype I tested at Computex, you might love it! 1355 x 768 resolution on 10 inch tablet sounds good right?

Viliv X70 Windows7 Slate "Most slim and light Windows 7 based tablet in the world" No word on how slim or light yet but their X70EX is 210(W) x 117(H) x 22.5(T) mm / 660g (8.2 x 4.6 x 0.8 inches 1.45 pounds) so it should be less..

Expect plenty of news and videos of these devices as I will be testing them at CES 2011!

I'm a bit on the fens here as I enjoy stock Android on tablets too.. their UI might have bad effect on custom stuff.. and what about widgets? And desktop?

One really bad news outside the video: No Android Market.

I should be able to test it at CES to see how it works and feels... more then.

So... cool devices from all aspects. The fact I can't charge it from USB ports still keeps me wondering what Sammy guys were thinking..

Here is few pics showing the charging and non charging icons.

UPDATE: it charges if you don't use it same time.. but takes 6 to 7 hours.

If you use it same time it doesn't even keep the state.

Next up will be hacking it even better and more testing..

We got news that Samsung Galaxy Tab wifi only version will be at Best Buy soon for $599. Now also Huawei S7 Android tablet is listed there for $299... again wifi only.

Both of them has been in our hands so we know they have Android Market access and all Google goodies... but these were 3G version.

What about the wifi only tablets? Google has never granted Market access to wifi only tablets.. are they now?

If I was on the Order Now button, I would stand back a little and wait for confirmations..

If these wifi only tablets are getting Googles blessing, are we soon seeing others too? I don't know, but I sure hope so!

UPDATE: Wifi only TAB is not gonna happen at all?

Android and Me is saying:

"I just heard that $499 WiFi-only Galaxy Tab is not going to happen...at least not this year...and next year is Honeycomb tablets..."

If there was no way to get Market on wifi Tab, Samsung might not sell it at all.. more info as it comes.

UPDATE: Wifi only version ( GT-P1010 )is now on FCC ...looks real after all.
