Asus Eee PC with instant-on OS


How about instant-on with Eee PC?

On the video you can see how it could work on Eee PC too.
Instant access to Internet, Skype etc. Me want!

I just talked with them and the word is:

"There is not currently any release schedule or plan that I can talk about. What's posted on Engadget is a demo we created - kind of a proof of concept"

..but one can dream. Maybe we can get it somehow..

Looks like a E-17 or Enlightenment Linux OS Desktop, but with some instant on feature. If you want to try it on your Eee PC (Enlightenment) there are several options. Some folks outside the edges of Ubuntu have it, gOS (Ubuntu based) has it, and there are others. It is very quick.

my first guess was XFCE rather then Enlightenment...

hmm, i wonder what power drain it is when using this, as there is no drive or similar powered up (if i understand it right that is).
