Only 16 Euros shipping cost to Romania via DHL Express...

Well Romania isnt UK and you will need the battery because of the Gigabyte M912s power drain while off.

*Dear User, Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. About the issue you mentioned, after checking with relevant department, during power off status, it is normal the battery consumed 8%~12% after one day. Sorry for the inconvenience.*

Hey guys, now I just take apart the battery from my EeePC 701 when I know I won't use in the day because of the battery drain.

Maybe it's even worse for the M912 but I was disappointed like you when half of my 701's battery were drained after a week turned off.

Of course they could make the battery drain smaller and that would be great. However they will always be *some* battery drain, just for the motherboard to wait for you to press the "power on" button. So, remove the battery when you don't use the device, and that's all.

@JP

Thats just bad manufacturing.If everyone acts like you they will continue to sell overpriced crap to the people.

I wouldnt wonder if the M912's suicide by deep discharge.

@Anonymous

Of course I'm not saying that things should not change. Of course it is bad manufacturing! As such, the discharge rate of the device is the kind of things I will dig up before deciding if I want to buy the device.

However now you have a device and you must live with it. You have to live with the bad design. So, remove your battery when you don't use the device for prolonged periods...

I never shut mine down, always simple close it (hibernation) and put it on the charger when I go to bed.

I'm litte confused. You picture show clearly that the 6-cell battery has 7650 mAh, as it documented at the gigabyte-homepage. On the other hand you find at many shops 6750 mAh batteries for m912. Just a typo?

the 6cell gave me 3hours15min with linux running at 50% screenlight and wifi/bt turned on. I have the high-res screen version of the m912X which uses a bit more power than the other models.
