Aigo MID XP drivers available

Finally!

Yep, wifi and chipset too..

No screen brightness software... maybe some key combo adjusts it.

Starting testing now... More soon...

UPDATE:

Hmm.. " Please note: the drivers compatible only with the new model, as Agio has made some hardware modifications on the device. "

Aigo said the only difference would be SSD size on new version.... testing.. testing..

UPDATE 2: looking bad... BIOS works.. wifi doesn't seem to... testing more

UPDATE 3: I just talked with Mobilx: Wifi drivers will not work on current models and it looks like old versions will never get wifi XP drivers.. I should get info about the brightness software tomorrow..

These drivers work only on new model shipping in late April

What does this mean on the data page of the Aigo mid

Please note: the drivers compatible only with the new model, as Agio has made some hardware modifications on the device.

sounds like a really messed up situation...

windows update picks up a wifi driver from what I remember as an optional install. See if that works? I can't test until I get home.

no but installed third party usb WiFi and that works, so almost is still not good enough for the Aigo.

Can't wait to find out what the hell did they change on the hardware to make wifi work!!!

I was going to complain that Mobilx recently added over 80 Euros to their price for this device but it doesn't matter. Still no XP, still no sale.

The one they will be selling next month works fine with xp...

I tested it at CeBit, but it looks us who bought the current version are out of luck with wifi..

What allows the midinux to access the wifi via software mode? Seems that a software method can be done for XP as well. Am I incorrect in my logic?

Unknown said...

I was just thinking the same thing, In Midlinux by default the wireless is off, until you enable it with application, so it device needs to be first enabled before we can use it, because the error code is that the device could not be turned on. Does anyone have a device that is XP with a software method to enable the Wireless?????????????

@Ishman.

The logic is, on Linux you can code drivers they way you want if some idiots put hardware in a device on an non standard way. On windows you can't! :/

did anyone hear about the brightness control that JKK mentioned earlier in the week????

JKK said...

No news about brightness control yet..

Anonymous said...

Am I glad that I did not buy this crap even those dealers kept saying "XP drivers next week"?

Unknown said...

ok, anyone found a way to get the screen brightness working, and is that from the lintel or the malefactor of the display???
