psion 5 has a normalish keyboard with a scissor action and i can get over 60 wpm with my thumbs. i think the problem is not the scissor action but the fact that these mids do not offer pyramid type keys like on normal keyboards. instead the keys are flat and adjacent so you have to type from straight up or you will hit other keys. its a very basic design fault which even blackberries address but which mid designers ignore.
