so now we have a bad battery and bad webcam on it.. well what difference would that make.. I hope there is space and zif adapter in the back..

of course it's only 0.99kg it has that lame battery i wonder whats the weight of the 901 without the battery ..... btw if the 1000h is sold for 550$ the true price of 901 is probably 525 or even less but unfortunately they got greedy :(

Damn, SHINY white and black, that's the reason I didn't buy the 901... I was hoping it had the same casing as the original 900... This way it's better to go for the 901 imo...

I will be buying this, replacing the webcam with my 901 cam. buying one of the many options for extended battery

No XP version ?
How about the SSD?

Display Card Intel® UMA is Intel GMA 950?

GNU linux means no Xandros?

GNU linux = Xandros (as you can see on the asus page all others eee PCs on Xandros are marked as GNU linux).

So far, unfortunately Asus/Xandros don't update the application versions (f.i. FF). Other GNU Linux distros are much more up to date. .

I want a "900B". The 900A case, but containing Bluetooth, better webcam and better battery. In fact, I want the 901 in the 900 case...

+1 That's it! Me too!

And me

It says that it is 16 gig ssd. Is this the same crummy cards that they put in the 16 gig 900. If it is then this is not worth buying!

Very disappointed! Will not be purchasing this first release!

intel uma must mean intel gma 950. i dont think the gma 900 can be on the 945 chipset with the atom.

Very interesting, a 700 series with 30gb hard drive, too bad no Atom though....

I don't like that shiny case either. Shame really.

shiny = pass.

I keep saying (maybe someday someone who matter will see it) I'd love a 900 (MATTE) case with an atom. 1.3gp webcam and fast ssd would be nice too.

900a with 900 top case (for color), with 900 30gb bottom case )for optional 1.8" drive and 900 webcam would be ideal. This is of course doable if one orders parts. Fair bit more expensive though.

JKK, will you make a thorough comparison of 900 and 900A when you get yours later this month?

I was going to get the 900, but now I'm not so sure. Is the 900A worth waiting for?

From the official site:

8.9" screen does not affect the overall weight of the Eee PC™ 900A, which remains below 1kg – allowing children and women to carry it with ease.

Great, finally a computer possible for women to carry, as they can of course not lift anything weighing over 1 kg. Talk about sexism!

I will buy it!

Why do they have to make such mistakes as 0,3m camera and shiny colours? Please make a Perfect one :)
