When you post your review, can you be sure to mention how comfortable it is for thumb typing?

Is Mini 9 the Linux or XP version? If XP, then can you try the Ubuntu on USB that you have. Oh - please check inside to see if you can MOD the Mini 9 and put touch screen into it like EeePC?

Is the keyboard layout a problem at all? Key size ok to use, can you touch type with it ok?

Does the Dell Mini 9 have a backlit keyboard?
Exactly how many netbook keyboards have backlighting on the keyboard so that it can be used in the dark easier? Nokia N810 has this, would be good for Dell, Everun Note, HP all of them, UMPCs and Netbooks to have a switch that turns on a backlit keyboard!

The mini doesn't have a backlit keyboard, but the screen is bright enough to light it in dark situations.

JKK what are the chances you will try the Pci-E to ZIF adapter mod for this machine? I would really like to beef the HDD up from the stock 16GB module, and I have hope with your handywork.

It's got a very very nice appearance but also terrible keyboard layout. I even don't speak about function-keys but irregular key locations on the right side. Maybe it's ok for latin-writers, especially bloggers and surfers like JKK. :)

there is no need for an keyboard backlight for net/notebook. since you could use a LED usb light with the netbook.

I was SO close to buying this, then I saw the 901 for 500 bucks, and leaped on it.
