When it comes to specs, is if faster than eeepc 900 or 900A? could you take a size comparison pic with the eeePC before you send it back?

Hi jkk, could you please give some more infos about battery life? It would be great to know how long it will last with wifi off, dvd drive off and so on.

Thanks in advance

it's max 3 hours with wifi etc off..

Hi Jkk, thanks for the answer. 3hours seems pretty less to me, or at least less then i expected. Do you think that XP will do a better job, or even Linux?

Thanks again for your work!

Hello,

Great review. I have a question for you. I have a Eee 901 with 30gb HD in it (thank you for the amazing guide) and i'm quite happy with it? How is this device compared to it in terms of overall perfomance? does it worth buying?

Thank you and keep up the good work!

thanks JKK for the review. It came a bit late for me as i:m already holding this wicked little device in my hand.

JKK, I installed vista on Eee 901 with 80GB Zif HDD and 2GB RAM. Windows gave me performance rate of 1.0 only. How come Kohjinsha gives 2.7 ? The Eee has Atom 1.6 and same Hard disk!

JKK said...

You have something wrong there..

I got 2.7:

I got mine through Conics.net. It is a nice machine - certainly get attention. However, I must advise that it has some jankiness: 1) the hard drive sometimes isn't recongnized (no operating system); 2) the touch screen sometimes doesn't operate at startup; 3) the plastic on the sides is pretty fragile, and has already cracked on mine because of the video port being pushed on when inserting the Ethernet cable; 4) mapping the keyboard to the US means you have to remember where the keys are, since the characters don't match; 5) won't start up with any flash cards in the slots.

I still like it, but there are definitely bugs which will hopefully be fixed with driver and firmware updates (if I can only figure out how to find them on a site written in Japanese!) The battery life is fantastic (3.5 hours on the standard and 6-7 on the extended, with WiFi on, but DVD and Bluetooth off).

Great service for great computer.

Seeing linux performance on this device would be nice. Battery time and responsiveness from the device. Also how well pen works. But I guess that is much up to which distribution or extra things you install.

Hi jkk, i agree with Smernaz, do you could maybe just bot the actual Ubuntu and tell us if it works and what the battery meter say and whats about the touchscreen and so on. This would be great.
thanks in advance

Which is best the Raon Note or this? I notice they are both the same size (I think) and this has a tablet mode

Anonymous said...

the SX3 is bigger than the Raon Everun Note in all dimenstions. Size (w/h/d mm)225/185/33 mm vs 200/118/28 mm.
Also the SX3 has a 8.9 inch screen vs 7 inch,
with a higher resolution 1280X768 vs 1024x600.
And the big selling point for me is the built in DVDRW, as I currenlt own a JVC XV841 and like using a builtin DVD drive.

Bear in mind the Raon Note does have a much more powerful CPU.

please test it under Ubuntu like for example OpenGEU and post some comments on keyboard, is it comfortable enough to write on it for more than 30 minutes ?

what about fan noise in the stress and heating points ?
