JKK "901/1000 versions will work on 900a/900ha too"

Are you saying the 901/1000 share the same battery terminals as the 900A and 900HA? I didn't think so?

One Good thing about One Laptop Per Child's battery is that when it was used up, it degraded into fertilizer (now that is a green battery).

Environmental Implications of OLPC

"The batteries can’t explode, right? I mean pick your company. They have recalls about every six months of millions of batteries that are exploding using lithium ion technology and so we explored different technology and batteries that would last much longer. The typical lithium ion battery lasts some 500 charge/recharge cycles, which is if you’re running off a battery all the time, a year or a year and a half, two years. Well, ours lasts 2,000 charge/recharge cycles and so that’s like five years, right, even if you’re running off a battery all the time and lithium ferro phosphate which we use as well as nickel metal hydride, lithium ferro phosphate actually with processing decomposes into fertilizer".

Hi All

I have, since septembre, this one for my 900:

25€ and very nice.

"Are you saying the 901/1000 share the same battery terminals as the 900A and 900HA?"

Yes, the 901, 900A and other Atom based Eee PCs have the same 7-pin battery connector. Celeron models have 9 pins.

I'm still waiting for extended 3rd party batteries for my 900A...

Looked at the Bluetrade site, where it says "La batterie 10400 mah n'est pas compatible avec ce chargeur" which means that the 10400 monster battery many 701/900 users have is not compatible. The only reason I can think of why this might be so is that the clamping arrangement might now work because the 10400 battery is thicker. Can anyone who has one of these chargers enlighten us? thanks JHH

Whoops, I meant to type "the clamping arrangment might NOT work" in the previous post.

older batteries are not working on the newer atom based Eees as the connector is different...

hey JKK
i soldered a pci-e header to my dell mini 9 and it worked. I managed to get the card identified and installed perfectly. The only issue now is that there is no power to the sim holder and i can't seem to isolate the missing resistors. There is 2 jumpers c105 and c106 just below the sim holder that seem to have +3.3v and connect to the sim holder. Only issue is if you jump them the mini won't start. Can you email me ? cmw a|t cmw . me I would love your help :)

i have just found a new big battery for eeepc 1000h with 13000mAh capacity in ebay for about 114 EUR. This new 13000mAh battery uses full width space of the backside of the eeepc 1000/1000H. so it looks much beautiful than the old 12000mAh one, which extended vertically and looked very nasty.

I recently bought the charger from expansys.

http://www.expansys-usa.com/d.aspx?i=17 … umpcportal

When the product is out, without hesitate i got one my self.

However, till now i am having problems with the charger. I am just wondering if any of you guys also own one of this charger, please kindly share your feedback if you have same issues that i faced.

Till now, i only got reply from expansys support forum saying that it is the right charger that i got. But i am having problems in slottiing in the charger into my battery. How can they say it fit when it doesn't. Would be grateful if any of you all could share your view.

Problems:
1) There is discrepancy in how the connector is connected to the battery from the pictures shown in expansys website compare to the one shown in the instruction sheet that delivered together with the charger.
2) If i follow the instruction sheet, i would not be able to connect to the battery at all. This is suppose to be the correct orientation as the longest pin in the charger allign with the charger port of eee pc. But i can't seem to connect it to my battery.
3) If i connect in opposite site, the connector can go in but the hanger of charger is protruding out. Worst still, it did not charge my battery properly. 4hr 30min of charging only charged 52% of my battery. Bad news is that my battery life seems to be deteriorated after that particular charging.

JKK do you have any comment? Can you please help clear the air?
