Not cheap but I was expecting worse, if you think of the latest viliv prices.

Unfortunatelly for me There is no chance I can get one in a near future.

Still a nice little machine.

In order to be competitive with solutions such as the Dell Streak, I think it needs to be about $200 cheaper.

I could do with a version with a small SSD, HSPA, GPS and AV out. However you may have to pay for the largest SSD now to get all the rest!

A model of the UMID BZ with HSPA, 1 GB RAM and with GPS would have been great to see.

They originally said it would be under $500. This is far too much for far too little and far too late.

Not trying to drive the price up, but personally... give me an N5 with a 64GB SSD, video-out, and a 1.6 proc, and I'd be willing to pay over $1k USD for it. However, I don't think I can wait another 6 months for such. :-\

Are prices for the N5 at Dynamism likely to be higher in a couple of months, or just loose the special introductory offer of a battery?

BTW, the earliest model sold in Japan had a 'long-sleep' problem. I had a trouble waking it up after 4+hrs sleep. Trouble has gone after updating ec_io & viliv manger. I guess the manufacturer had corrected problem before shipping to US but If you guys have trouble waking it up, make sure it got newest ec_io & viliv manage. Kissing it wouldn't work no matter how you look like.

Can we downgrade to XP on the Viliv N5, I looked on the viliv website and there were no xp drivers, just windows 7 drivers, Doues anyone know where are the windows xp drivers?

Why the higher price (because of the size, and it has no VGA port either)?

Also needs ARM processor, or Intel Moorestown to shut off CPU when needed to save battery.

Linux version (like Meego, or Android, could even build phone into it, that would be better).

Needs to be cheaper... and dreaming, as and UMPC really needs to look at installing Pixel Qi Screen (when Mary Lou builds smaller ones like she stated at Computex that companies were asking her to) -

Jkk - have you done a video review of DIY kit just announced on Pixel Qi site? Has links to a source of DIY kit.

$275.00 DIY- They have a HOW-TO video link posted. Pretty expensive. I think this is overpriced? What do you think? See:

Yup ... S5 is the winner! maybe if they change it into a slider in the future I'd consider it.

This is much better than the not very useful S5 but it's too expensive so I'll buy neither.

N5 dissected: http://www.umpcfever.com/viewthread.php?tid=13493&extra=page%3D1

It looks like the SSD and the 3G modem are separate modules. Could you add 3G to the model without 3G if you had one? The module mates to a separate circuit board that will probably be missing from it though.

Headphones jack , does that support only headphones or headset ? The viliv s5 supports headset , doesn't N5 ?

jkk have you tried or planning to, upgrade windows 7 on this device for any higher version? I am thinking of getting this device but i dont like windows starter on it. This will be a real deal breaker for me.
thank you!

Hi,

Can u turn off the GPS module on the N5 at all... to ssave a battery? Wifi, WWAN, Bluetooth and Camera can be turned off by the manager... and the GPS still works??

Thanx
