MSI to show Wind netbook with touchscreen at CES

Great news!

Joanna from Laptop Magazine interviewed MSI’s Director of U.S. Sales Andy Tung and among other things she got some surprising news about future MSI's products:

" .. during CES we will display a 10-inch touch notebook and a 16-inch touch notebook. The Wind with the touch screen is something we are demoing at CES but we are not sure this will come to market. We will be gathering feedback on this, because we are not sure a 10-inch display is large enough for a tablet. "

Feedback from jkkmobile: BRING IT ON!

How to: Add touch panel to MSI Wind U100

Goodies for MSI Wind!

Just like on Eee PCs, you need to have the touch panel, the controller ( I have no idea where he got it ) and soldering skills.

USB lines are taken from the PCI-E connector and 5V from external USB port ( powered on stand by? )

Thanks, Kdotnogi and thanks Mike!

Hands-on with MSI Wind

First hand-on with MSI Wind... and they love it!

6 cell battery extends a bit..

Bright and sharp screen..

No heat or noise and performance feels good... but it ran at 792Mhz and didn't use the full 1.6Ghz even on load.

Note that even the keyboard is wider than on Eee, the key size is only 1mm wider...
