Too big.
I'd just like the 701 with that native 1024x600 resolution.

Sure they didn't upgrade the 7" screen too?

does this have a touchscreen?

JKK said...

It's not that big..

if you don't have 701 to compare you woudl'n notice the different..

you will see that on the video coming in in few minutes.

no touch yet, but i have some news coming about that soon..

We're quite anxious for that video...

BTW, where did they hide the speakers?

Anonymous said...

"the speakers have been moved from their current position straddling the screen to the underside of the unit."

Do you know what the exact weight is compared to the 701? I read that the 900's weight is something like 2.2 pounds.

Thanks

at current exchange rates
399 Euros = 606.5598 U.S. dollars!

I like these eee pc's, but for the price you really are better off buying something of similar prices and gaining far more productivity in most cases.

I'd be more interested if they came out with a standard 2.5 HDD instead of the SSD. That way you could significantly bump storage for minimal cost.

But i do understand the benefits of the SSD

Hi JKK,

launch at april would be great. Are you sure? As ASUS told eee 900 will be available in the middle of the year / summer, but I just cant wait to hold it in hands :)

Cheers, tsx

Since the whole unit is bigger, is the keyboard any bigger than the one on the previous model?

Also to some of the other comments here: When comparing prices, please remember that in EU the prices are provided with all taxes included. So you cannot directly compare it to the price in the US.

JKK said...

keyboard is the same as in 701..

.. it's only about 5 mm wider than 7 inch versions

yep, you can't compare prices directly. I'd say euro price is close to us dollar price 399e = 399$
