Whats you tube (normal and high quality) like - obviously HD won't play. Is it possible to overclock thew processor to say 1.45GHz. Whats the battery life like? I take that its windows 7 RC. Sorry don't have time to watch the full video - I realise you probably cover this in the video.

Have you already swapped the HDD ? On the video we can see that windows is installed od 25 GB partition ( and T91 commes with only 16 GB SSD ). What kind of disc have you put inside ? Any speed test and speed comparison ? What about start time and shutdown time ? And the last question -> what kind of windows is it ( Ultimate / Starter / Home Premium / Profesional ) ?

ultimate on default 16gig ssd..

.. will mod bigger/faster SSD hopefully tomorrow..

Could you make a video using the T91 as an ebook reader using a pdf ebook and resizing and playing with it?

There's a Firefox plugin called Gesso that will enable the floating TIP in FF just like in IE.

Regarding the touch-screen. The current T91, shown in the video, is "single touch". ? What do you think the differences will be with the "multi touch" ? ... in regards to stylus input / notes ? ... you've already had your hands on one at a Show. Will Win7 allow the User to select the touch mode ? What might be your expectations of resting your hand on the screen while writing in Tablet Mode for Win7 ?

gesso didn't help...

I think your brightness problem stems from your power plan settings. you can set a default brightness for each power plan. click on "more power options" and there "change plan settings". this should allow you to set a different default brightness. Oh by the way, my acer 751 (gma 500) plays 1080p fine out of the box with w7 as long as it's h.264 (mkv or mp4). didn't try wmv but that should work too. hope that helps...

JKK said...

Thanks Fabian,

I checked the power plan settings and intel setting on first thing.. no worky..

Hi on the power thing for the display brightness... i also have this issue...
i tried with Win7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate... all same issue...
still working to find a way... but i guess it is the driver issue there...
so await for Intel new driver and see...

I've installed Win7 and I want to upgrade my RAM from 1 to 2GB. Since the battery isn't removable, are there any precautions I need to take before proceeding?

Also, jkk, Gesso works fine with XP -- maybe not optimized for Win7 yet? I installed it last night and it seems to work sometimes but not all.

And the most important thing! It's Windows Touch Compliant!

You weren't really fair to MS when you said they messed up by not showing each firefox tab in aero peek (the taskbar preview thing). The APIs are there; it's firefox's fault for not using them. I'm sure firefox could have the same nice behavior as IE, but they don't use it since firefox has to work on many OSes.

So I upgraded to Win 7 (release) about a month ago and was somewhat pleased except for the lack of space with the 16GB SSD... bought a 32GB for EEE PC but was unable to open case... Thought there was going to be a How-To posted at some point but have seen nothing. Also heard that the SSD I bought might not fit so a "How to" walk through would really be great!

It isn't Microsoft's fault that Firefox doesn't have the ability to switch between tabs like Internet Explorer does. Mozilla has to add that to Firefox themselves

Tim Gremalm said...

The problem with the on-screen-keyboard doesn't show up in text-boxes in FF is because FF don't use Windows text-boxes, they have their own text-box-objects. It's the same thing with all FF-objects.
The right ting to do is GrabAndDrag and Gesso.

And the problem with the tab's showing up in taskbar is also FF's fault.
Like Ben said, FF have to implement the Windows API's.

Is the touchpad a multitouch-pad?

Just got my T91 yesterday (dont know how they managed it but big thanks got to Madelein and Jiri from a company i will not name for getting hold of this one for me so quickly)

Installed Win7 RC straight out of the box. I have to say i'm loving it so far, next job is to install 3G module, looked inside yesterday and my unit has a pcie mini socket onboard where the GPS unit would be.

Have been running some battery tests today and with WiFi OFF just editing some documents i have an estimated battery life of over 6hrs!

Very very happy.

I wonder how much did Phelipe H paid for the T91 in Hong Kong ...

May I know what kind of carbon sticker you are using in your T91? I have done some research, but the quality is not as good as I expected.

Hi all,

I leave in a country (France) where T91 is sold without the 3G module option. Can anyone tell me where in the world can one buy the official or compatible 3G or 3G+GPS(better!) module?

Thank U

Sorry for asking a question which has been covered many times, but I am still unable to install de ACPI drivers after installing w7 on my T91. Is there somewhere a really detailed how-to description as the generic ones didn't help me.
Right now, W7 only recognises 800x600 screen resolution, Intel chipset driver can't be installed without acpi and additionally I receive frequent messages over missing touchpad drivers.
My main computer is a Mac (no tablet yet from Steve Jobs, so I decided to try the T91) so I am not particularly good at tweaking Windows (here in the Canary Island I haven't seen the MT model yet in the big retailers).

Hi,

I was just wondering what is the maximum resolution on the VGA out on the T91?

Thanks

I have used it on a 1920x1200 monitor, I haven't got anything bigger to test. Then again, I used an old EEE 4G on the same monitor...

Is the handwriting (with your hand resting on the screen) on T91 better on W7 than on XP?

Anonymous said...

To install the ASUS ACPI driver: download it from the ASUS support site (for XP) and run the installer in XP compatibility mode..

Jkk your videos on t91 are great. Device looks great. I have purchased one and eagerly await it's arrival. Particularly interested in input of information by handwriting. Can this be done into MS Word? Or cut and paste into it from notes software?

Hi there! I got a T91 but still can't play 720p movies in it...it's slow... Also, when I'm downloading something from Rapidshare using Chrome, it just stucks there...and doesn't let me do anything! I'm running Windows XP! Would a little overclock help in these situations? HD playing..and occasional slugging? I've tried using Setfsb, with ICS9LPR427GLF, but it doesn't change the clock... =/ Any useful tips?

Thanks!

What kind of screen protecting film did you use? And where did you get it? I've looked for them but they seem to be quite rare here in Finland.

JKK said...

It is a generic film for 8.9 inch netbooks.. got it from Ebay

Has anyone managed to sort out the brightness problem in Win7 yet? After dimming, I can only get it to return to full brightness by pressing the Fn+F4 buttons. Very annoying in tablet mode! Is there a workaround such as a desktop shortcut to get full brightness? NB: Even if Win7 is set to full brighness, it is still dim i.e. only gets brighter with the FN+F4 keys.
