LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2009--Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN), today launched a new class of powerful Solid State Drive (SSD) solutions and an easy-to-install SSD upgrade kit to help users transition from hard disk to high-performance SSD technology. Imation's new M-Class SSD drives and S-Class SSD drives will be available in 2.5-inch and 3.5- inch configurations, respectively, with capacities ranging from 32GB to 128GB.
The Imation M-Class SSD products will be available beginning in February through authorized Imation distributors, wholesalers, resellers and e-tailers worldwide for a manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $179.99 U.S. (2.5 inch, 32 GB, SATA interface). The S-Class SSD products and the Upgrade Kit for both drives will be available in March.
The more SSDs the better! .. That upgrade kit is a bit bulkier than micro USB on RunCore SSDs but sure eases the cloning job a lot.

"Proof-of-concept showing the Android operating system on a REDFLY Smartphone Terminal.
Speed and stability will increase as the concept is developed. The Android devices output resolution is changed to 800x480 then video output is routed to the REDFLYs 8-inch screen. REDFLY also allows the use of its built-in keyboard and touchpad to control the Android device.
The REDFLY Smartphone Terminal has no OS, CPU or storage. REDFLY does not require syncing of data back and forth to a phone as all data and settings remain on the phone itself. This proof-of-concept will be on display during CES 2009 at booth #3934. "

Missing Windows Movie Maker on Windows 7?

No worry. Grab it from MS..
I have been testing Windows 7 on mobile computers and I was missing video editing tools as I need to edit them sometimes on the move..
Windows 7 doesn't come with Movie Maker like XP and Vista, but I tested version 2.6 on it and noticed that it works fine. Yep, it's not as good as the version on Vista but better than nothing ( Movie Maker Live is not better than nothing )
Hit the link to download it if needed...
Download WMM 2.6 from Microsoft

There has been some speculation about Intel restricting Atom cpu to be used only on netbooks with 10.2 inch screes or less...
.. well as you can see from these pictures, 13.3 inch "netbooks" allready exist. MDT is also making 12 inch ones. I have seen some even with 14.1 inch screens...
Same goes vith VIA. There are plenty of those with bigger screens.
And speaking of plenty, just check how many different netbooks GlobalSources is listing..
So yes, there is and will be netbooks/laptops with Atom and big screens.

Google Android running on Eee PC

Guys at VentureBeat are testing Android on Asus Eee PC 1000. They got all base stuff like graphics and wifi working in few hours, so it sounds like doable job...
Is there point running Android on 10 inch screen x86 hardware is another thing..
I think Android is better on a pocketable or smaller ARM based devices. I would prefer full desktop OS on bigger devices...
It's still good to have options.. Let's see where this is going..
