Cool! It makes the SC3 competitive with the Raon Digital Everun Note in terms of pricing...

I still don't see WHY you need a screen so small on such a machine? 9" is pretty much the absolute limit for day-to-day, general usability. At that small, you will have to constantly be zooming in and out and struggling with seeing the windows in full.

@David: depends on your eyes.

A lot of people are like you and connot withstand high dpi -- that's basically why the netbook market goes towards bigger screens instead of better resolution (think of the 10in netbooks).

However another group of people supports quite well high dpi and so they enjoy having the smallest possible device that can still provide an enjoyable resolution.

Also, it depends on your usage model... If you always use your device as a table-top, no need for an UMPC; a netbook or even a notebook is fine. And then the 9" minimal size you state is a good one. But if you use mostly your device on the go, in your hands, netbooks are just too big and too heavy. In that case 7" is the *maximal* size that you can really accept... And actually 5" is the perfect size. 7" is just a good compromise for something usable in your hands and still usable as a table-top from time to time.

Yeah, compromises. That's all about it.

This is great. But I prefer to wait until S7 'cause it's more narrow and thin but longer(so keyboard will be less uncomfortable). Of course if specs don't lie. :)

does this mean new models will be out soon?

is this thing any good? The price is comparable to a good netbook. Would you get this or the netbook (msi wind/asus 1000)
