greets from germany: did you install the t91mt bios version on your t91?

Nice to see you again on a Netbook Hack. I think you heat up your solder iron for the second hack, right? free mini pcie slot near the ssd.

Thanks for the video good to see that it is not too hard to change the ssd.

Great job!
The t91 is unfortunately a bit slow. Do you think that the new ssd will solve this problem?
I have problems with my t91 under 7. I cant't use the keys to raise up volume.

Just ordered one. Thanks for the video! :)

In the Run Core specs it says 125/80 why is it slower here?

JKK said...

T91 can't go faster.. bus is slower than the SSD..

So when are your next video coming?

Fix the title, it says SDD instead of SSD (in YouTube also).

I ended out selling my T91 and picking up the T91MT. I just ran the CrystalDisk and had some interesting results.
Read Write
Seq 72.16 33.41
512k 68.44 25.96
4k 8.261 2.074

A little faster than the 16gb model

Oh...I also have2gb of ram installed. Not sure if that makes a difference

will the ssd work on the eee 901?

I'm sitting here now and are cloning the disk. Got my new RunCore Pro IV SATA 50mm Mini PCIe SSD disk yesterday. Two days shipping with UPS from US till Norway! :D

If youre having problems with the cloning, disable all the cpu settings in BIOS and remove all SD cards.

Thanks for the video! I have successfully put in the 64GB Runcore SSD, big improvement in performance. One thing... After I put everything back together, the keyboard hooks aren't really holding the keyboard down firmly anymore... I can pry away the keyboard quite easily now...putting the 3 hooks back in place isn't seeming to work for me. I have watched the video several times, paying attention to what you did you get them off in the first place, but pushing them away from the device...but reversing the process isn't getting them back in place... I guess I will keep trying...

I followed the excellent guide now and installed the 64GB Runcore. Thanks jkk ! Appr twice the write performance overall, read about the same. I installed 2GB RAM as well. Take care to not drop any of the small screws into the machine at reassembly. You may need to open it all up once more ;-|

hey there dunno if you still read or care about the old T91 machines, but tommorow i'll be posting my benches of a 16GB class 10 SDHC as well as a runcore 32gb :)

dan deyette said...

32gb runcore loaded...

unfortunately the sdhc hdd slit maxes at 16mbps
whether your using the stock transcend class 6 or an adata class 10 16gb sdhc :(

I ordered the upgrade direct from Runcore and the BIOS doesnt appear to recognize the disk. I have the latest BIOS installed. I am afraid they shipped me the "non-light" version. Is there a way to confirm which part I recieved?

Anonymous said...

Can the old hard drive be placed in the plastic housing that was used for cloning and then be used as an external usb hard drive?

JKK said...

yes, you can use the old drive as external usb drive

Anonymous said...

I'll ask this queston again. Is it possible to do this replacement in my Eee Pc 901? Thanks in advance for answer.

JKK said...
