BYD Mars is a smart phone with XP...

..and this convertible MID is from NFS.

Phone with XP? Want one?

That convertible might be pretty nice. Looks like 4.8 inch screen and 5 row keyboard on it.

More details coming soon..

the future of Atom-based handheld devices certainly looks exciting.

im just hoping Windows 7 multitouch will make them a little more competitive with the iPhone/Palm Pre's of the world. as of right now control sticks, stylus, & scroll bars kinda suck.

Intel Atom Z Series - 2Ghz
Happy days ahead I think!

PC-phone? What for? I rather prefer slick and slim ARM based MID-phone with a 4.3-4.8 inch screen and a Linux-based OS with full functionality of web and office-suite.

funny, a video on hand held power computing/phone, and i cant view it on my g1.

The bad thing is what IMHO there is no standard and good full-functional OS for ARM processors like XP for x86. Maybe Android will become one.

Where are the *old* MIDs? Not that I mind getting new ones on the horizon, but even the "current" models are nowhere to be found in decent numbers.

Sorry to vent some frustration here, but while great blogs such as JKKmobile and UMPCportal give a lot of support for MIDs, I'm tired of mainstream tech blogs, particularly people in the comments section, ridiculing MID/UMPC's as if they're pointless.

I know not many people want to do full-blown music production, programming, photoshop or blogging on a 4-inch maybe 3-inch screen. But there at least a few talented and intelligent people who want to pen down their creative ideas literally anywhere without being pinned down to their desk or office.

I say thank goodness for those with the depth and ability to want these high-powered, pocketable devices to appear on the market and push the envelope. As opposed to a moronic majority that ridicule them because they're too inept to do complicated tasks on a small screen, or who can't imagine using a MID for anything more than passive music and video consumption.

20 FPS is horrible IMO. Nvidia Ion (X86) has the potential to transform this space. They also have Tegra on the ARM side so I say Nvidia will be the dominant player IMO. What do you guys think?
