seems they try to emulate the osx way of doing task managing.

as its xfce tho, you should be able to add a more windows like task area. right click on the bar and select "add new item" then look for "task list".

i installed this to my eee pc 901, and when I press standby (fn + f1) it goes standby. And i can't set up wlan, why?

I mean that when I try to make new wireless connection, it shows up as a "never". I think that it means that it never uses that connection?

everything fine but mic not working

Anonymous said...

i have the 900 too.
does this OS support the FN hotkeys?

Anonymous said...

Does not work on my 901. I installed it on 2nd SSD (Runcore 16GB) and get an I/O error during boot.
Presto appears but without any options...you don't see anything on the screen but the Presto background image.
So, I can't recommend the Beta-OS for 901! It probably needs some Linux knowledge to get it running.

with my Hp pavilion dv6827eo vista machine this os startup takes 30sec and it has wlan and my 1200x800 15,4" screen working out of the box.

thou in doesn't have finnish keyboard layout, and non of my volume, wifi, playback buttons work.

but the startuptime is faster than my vista 3mins :D (don't ask how many programs)

@anonymous with I/O issues:
perhaps this tip will help? http://www.prestomypc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=120&p=278&hilit=901#p278

This post on customizing Presto tells how to get open application's icons on the taskbar, as well as other nice things. It fixes some of the things JKK mentioned not liking in his review.

I have an old laptop and Presto has breathed new life into it. I'm liking it a lot.
