It looks like Eee PC 1000H will be upped with new models called 1000HE and 1000HAE. Only visible difference seems to be the new keyboard which is used on the Eee PC T101H too..

This is great news !

I'm looking forward to upgrade my 1000, if I could find one of these new keyboards for cheap on ebay. Wonder if the new right-Fn key would work on the 1000 though...

Forgot to add - wonder why they shrunk the /? key, it's not like anyone ever complained of hitting it when they wanted to hit shift... IMO they would have done better if both right-shift and /? had the same size as all the other normal keys.

But in any case, the new layout is still a clear improvement over the old.

Like an Apple or a Sony, but for a fraction of the price :-) Good move Asus. I wonder if it'll help make the Eee PCs a bit thinner...

Sony started it

Apple copied it

Asus follows it

who would have thought keyboards would ever become a hip trend

They are still keeping the right Shift as small as a regular key and right next to the up arrow!? I was hoping to see the arrow keys moved one row downwards as in regular lappies...
